Isla de los Gatos
Mickey J. Corrigan
The last time I visited one of my favorite island nations, I was charmed by the warmth of the people and concerned for their welfare. The split between the haves and the have-nots was grim. At a local gallery, one dark painting struck me in the heart: “The Othersiders” depicted the division and unfairness I saw on the island. I see these same inequities here. We are living on Isla de los Gatos too.

Librarian Maddie and the Theft of the Lost Epic
Marc Sorondo
Maddie is a brilliant academic with a restless soul, and a fearless can-do mind. A friend appeals to her to rescue a rare and ancient manuscript—the Arimaspea, a lost Greek epic—from the mobster who bought it and intends to hide it from scholars. Maddie swings into action to save it from, in her opinion, a fate worse than mold.
